Australian Nurse elected President of the International Council of Nurses
The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) today warmly congratulated Rosemary Bryant, FRCNA – Australia’s Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer on her appointment as President of the International Council of Nurses (ICN).
Professor Mary Chiarella, Chairperson of the ANMC said that “Rosemary’s appointment reflects the great esteem with which Rosemary and Australian nurses are held within the international nursing community. Throughout her career Rosemary Bryant has made an extensive and important contribution to the development of the nursing profession in Australia”.
Most recently being appointed to the position of Australia’s first Commonwealth Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer, Rosemary Bryant has previously held a range of important leadership roles in Australian nursing. The international community of nurses will benefit greatly from Ms Bryant’s leadership and extensive knowledge and experience of the nursing profession.
The ANMC looks forward to continuing our strong relationship with Ms Bryant, working to address issues of importance to nurses and health care recipients, nationally and globally.
