The Coalition of National Nursing Organisations (CoNNO) congratulates Rosemary Bryant on her appointment as the inaugural Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer for Australia. As the current Executive Director of the Royal College of Nursing, Australia, Rosemary Bryant has a wealth of experience in both the national and international nursing arenas, CoNNO Chair Kim Ryan said.

Ms Ryan acknowledged the significant contribution Rosemary has made to nursing in this country in saying: “As the previous chair of CoNNO, Rosemary has been instrumental in promoting the voice for nursing in this county, and has strongly advocated for the position of Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer.”

“CoNNO is thrilled we have reached this milestone in our country and look forward to continuing to work with Rosemary to promote nursing in Australia and Australian nursing internationally.” The Coalition of National Nursing Organisations (CoNNO) is made up of more than 50 national nursing organisations in an alliance to work collectively to advance the nursing profession to improve health care.

The members of CoNNO represent the national interests of nurses in all sectors of the health profession, and comprise specialist national nursing organisations from over 50 different specialty areas of nursing practice.
